Need help getting started with Voiced, the local voice dictation app for Mac? We've got you covered.

support@voicedhq.comDownload Voiced from the website and drag it to your Applications folder. Launch it from your Applications or Spotlight.
Voiced needs two permissions: Microphone (to hear you) and Accessibility (to paste text into apps). macOS will prompt you for both on first launch.
On first launch, Voiced downloads the speech recognition model (~150 MB). This only happens once and takes about a minute on most connections.
Hold the Right Option key (⌥) and speak. Release when you're done. Your transcribed text will appear wherever your cursor is.
Make sure you've granted Microphone permission in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. If Voiced is listed but unchecked, toggle it on and restart the app.
Voiced needs Accessibility permission to paste text. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and make sure Voiced is enabled. Some apps may also need you to click into a text field first.
Check that another app isn't using the same key. You can change your hotkey in Voiced's preferences. If you're using a keyboard with non-standard modifier keys, try remapping in System Settings → Keyboard.
Voiced's local speech-to-text engine runs best on Apple Silicon Macs (M1 or later). Make sure you're running macOS Sonoma (14+). If accuracy is low, try speaking closer to your microphone and reducing background noise.
Check your internet connection and try relaunching Voiced. The model download will automatically resume. If the issue persists, try temporarily disabling your VPN or firewall.
